description The Palisades Ranger Residence Cabin is located within the Palisades Administrative Site in the Santa Catalina Mountains, 20 miles northeast of Tucson, Arizona. It is reached via the Sky Island Scenic Byway, a historic, scenic, and ecological drive from the Sonoran Desert to the dense forests at 8,000 feet elevation. The house has indoor plumbing, electricity, a fully stocked kitchen, furniture, beds and a large enclosed front yard.
drivingDirection Driving Directions: From northeast Tucson, take E. Tanque Verde Road to E. Catalina Highway. Drive north on Catalina Highway, which becomes the General Hitchcock Highway, for approximately 23 miles to Organization Ridge Road and take a left (just before Palisades Visitor Center). Cabin is located approximately 100 yards in on the right.
facilitiesDescription The five room cabin can accommodate up to four people. It consists of a bedroom (with a bunk bed), a dining room, a living room (with a queen size futon), a bathroom, and a fully-equipped kitchen. Features include: 1000 square feet of indoor space Beds for four people Electric range and microwave Fully stocked kitchen Large dining table and chairs Propane heat and wood stove Outdoor furniture in an enclosed front yard Propane BBQ grill Parking available on the site. Although the cabin has amenities for comfortable lodging, guests do need to provide some of their own supplies, including food, sleeping bags, linens, pillows, towels, dish soap, matches, a first aid kit, toilet paper and garbage bags. Although electricity is available, it is recommended that guests bring an additional light source in case of emergencies.

importantInformation Upon reservation confirmation, gate and lockbox combinations will be provided for cabin entry. (Lockbox containing the house key located on the back door). Reservation dates are subject to inclement weather. Inclement weather may limit or prohibit access to the cabin. When this occurs, Palisades Visitor Center parking lot may be utilized for temporary parking. Cell phone coverage is limited/spotty, and is unreliable in certain places. An emergency telephone is located outside the Palisades Visitor Center. The cabin is monitored by Pima County Sheriff and Forest Service Law Enforcement. Please keep the cabin and grounds clean and litter free to deter squirrel, mice, rats, bears, and other wildlife. Before they leave, guests are expected to clean the cabin, including: washing dishes, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping down countertops, cleaning toilets and showers, and packing out all trash. Pets are permitted in the cabin, but owners must clean-up all pet waste. Pet waste removal bags /clean up stations are not provided. Smoking is prohibited inside the cabin. The cabin is located in a natural area. Please be aware that snakes, scorpions, and other poisonous and non-poisonous insects may be present at any time. This cabin does not honor Golden Age Passport Discounts A notebook is located inside the cabin to answer specific questions during your stay as well as provide area recreation information.
